On February 21, 1849, the Township of Ocean was incorporated by a joint act of the New Jersey State Assembly and Senate. This year we celebrate 170 years! You will see this theme through many of our events.

FOLLOWING ARE OUR 2019 COMMUNITY EVENTS
This year's St. Patrick's Day celebration/dinner will be held on Friday, March 15 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Renaissance.
We are excited to bring back our Easter Egg Hunt during our Sunday, April 14 Eggstravaganza at the Oakhurst Firemen's Field next to the Oakhurst Firehouse, 72 Larkin Place, Oakhurst. Beginning at 11:00, children ages 3 - 10 will enjoy crafts, games and fun. Then, beginning at noon, the egg hunts will take place. Be sure to bring your own basket or container! Also, from 8:00 a.m. to noon that morning, the Oakhurst Fire Department will host a Breakfast with the Easter Bunny.
On Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, join us as we honor our veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. Our Memorial Day ceremony held at 11:00 a.m. at Town Hall.
This year’s Independence Day celebration will take place on Wednesday, July 3 (rain date: July 5). We will have a parade which will honor Jason Huxley, owner of Kepwel Spring Water (the oldest existing company in town), as well as our former parade Grand Marshals back to 1993. The parade will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Dow Avenue, turn onto Whalepond Road and end at the Joe Palaia Park Michael J. Cernigliani Festival Grounds. Any marchers and those with floats who are interested in participating should contact Councilwoman Donna Schepiga at 732-531-5000, ext. 5401. Once at the park, food trucks are available. Feel free to bring chairs and/or blankets to make yourselves comfortable while you await our stupendous fireworks display, which begins at dark.
Our OkoberFest will run from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 5 at Joe Palaia Park.
On Friday, November 1, we will host a Super Seniors luncheon for our residents age 90 and older. Check back for additional information.
A Veteran’s Day ceremony will take place at Town Hall on Monday, November 11 at 11:00 a.m.
We will have a Christmas tree lighting ceremony on Sunday, December 1 at 4:30 p.m. next to the Woolley House museum, 703 Deal Road.
Our menorah lighting ceremony will take place on Sunday, December 22 at 6:30 p.m. at Town Hall.
