Clean Communities Program

Office Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.


The Clean Communities program is designed to inform our residents of the many ways in which the environment of the Township of Ocean can be improved. The program itself is funded by a New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection grant. The main thrust of the program is litter abatement and beautification through action and education. Following are just some of the activities within the Clean Communities program:

  • School and civic group (scouts, etc.) presentations, call 732-531-5000, ext 3392 to schedule an environmental presentation for your group.

The Clean Communities program is designed to enforce the litter laws and conduct litter abatement on township properties and some roadways. The program itself is totally funded by a New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection grant. Part of the program is providing education to the children in Ocean Township by providing school assemblies upon request and handing out literature on the environment during special activities and events. Following are just some of the activities that Clean Communities are involved with:

  • Clean Sweep
  • School and civic group (scouts, etc.) presentations
  • Fall Fest
  • Special Cleanup Activities such as Deal Lake, Cindy Lane and Monmouth University Big Event!
