The Township of Ocean Department of Human Services is charged with the mission of promoting cultural events and activities which promote the arts for the benefit of the community. Of particular importance is the promotion of the arts as a means of enhancing the developmental assets that are associated with a Healthy Community - Healthy Youth initiative in Ocean.
DHS provides opportunities for visual and performing artists to share their talents with the community.
The rooms, used as reading rooms for the library, provide an inviting environment for the display of art work. In addition, the donation of an artists' grand piano makes the gallery a venue for small instrumental and vocal recitals, as well as other musical programs.
